Walmart, who own asda in the uk have annouced (2002/04) that they are going to start selling OS-Free computers for a few hundred pounds, thereby reducing the cost of hardware for linux systems.

Sharp have got their linux based pda, the Zaurus working, and are encouraging developers to sign up with Handango to sell their software.

Hewlett-Packard have released the Red Hat linux version of their x1100 workstation, as used for the movie shreck. It retails (2000) at about £1000.
