Timeline; 1973

The C programming language was used this year to rewrite the 1969 code for Unix, freeing it from the pdp7 and giving it it's famed portability.

After the initial wave of 6 members in 1952, the European Union allows 3 more to join, Denmark, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. A further expansion occurs in 1981.

There were also some books and movies created this year.
